Another week, another win for the reigning NFC North darlings, the Minnesota Vikings. The team pulled off a comfortable 16-10 victory over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, putting themselves in a solid position near the top of the NFC North once again.

It’s been an exciting run through the NFL’s Week 7 slate, and the Vikings were one of the teams worth watching. They’re showing off an impressive defense, which isn’t something you see all the time in the NFL. The league is largely offense-driven, after all, so watching a genuinely dominant defense is a treat.

The Minnesota Vikings’ dominant defense is carrying the team, but their offense still has some work to do

Dan Parr of the NFL’s official website offers some takeaways from the NFL’s run of Week 7 games. He praises the Vikings’ defense while raising questions about their offense.

“Minnesota is allowing a league-low 12.3 points per game and has won 11 straight games dating back to Week 14 of the 2025 season, the longest active winning streak in the NFL,” he notes.

So, the reason the Vikings are so difficult to face isn’t necessarily their offense. It’s their defense.

“The Colts were leading, 10-6, at halftime, but they were shut out in the second half, and Jones finished 13 of 22 for just 108 yards,” he adds. He also points out that two missed field goals thanks to Spencer Shrader “helped the Vikings’ cause, but so did a suffocating defense that generated a 55.6% pressure rate and four sacks.”

The Vikings’ defense held Indianapolis scoreless in the second half, and they really pressured the quarterback, Daniel Jones, throughout the game. Then, the Vikings sealed the win with Harrison Smith’s interception. As Ice Cube says, it was a good day.
