Giannis Antetokounmpo’s first trip outside Milwaukee has been a nightmare.

The Miami Heat, who traded for the NBA Finals MVP, are on a three-game losing streak to begin the year. It’s the first time for the franchise since 2007-08, when they finished 15-67.

Giannis currently has one more year left on his deal but it has a player option.

Antetokounmpo, 31, could choose to opt out of a $62 million final year of his contract to enter free agency.

The 10-time All Star has expressed he left Milwaukee in search of another title. If that goal becomes lofty in Miami, it’s easy to assume he would want to move on.

Where would he go? Golden State? Los Angeles? Back to Milwaukee?

It’s more likely the Heat get right as Giannis and Bam learn to co-exist. But as long as they struggle, the player option will hover over the team’s future.
