The New York Mets have re-signed a right-handed relief pitcher who finished last season in the NL East club’s rotation.
According to ESPN’s Jorge Castillo, the Mets have signed veteran Robert Stock to a one-year Major League deal.
“The Mets announced they signed right-hander Robert Stock to a one-year major league deal,” Castillo wrote on X.
Stock, 36, made seven starts and one relief appearance for the Mets, posting a 5.93 ERA with 29 strikeouts and 15 walks in 30.1 innings.
He underwent thoracic outlet syndrome surgery in March but returned to the mound in June. New York promoted the 2009 second-round draft pick to the Majors in August.
Stock, who will turn 37 later this month, has pitched in parts of six Major League seasons with the San Diego Padres (2018-19), Boston Red Sox (2020, 2025), Chicago Cubs (2021), and Mets (2021, 2026).

He has a 5.20 ERA and 1.68 WHIP across 105.2 career innings, striking out 21.6% of the batters he’s faced.
As things stand, New York’s projected starting rotation includes Nolan McLean, Christian Scott, Zac Thornton, Kodai Senga, and Sean Manaea, per FanGraphs.
Stock is likely to fulfill a long reliever or mop-up role if he breaks camp with the Mets.
