In just a few short days, the NFL’s trade deadline will have come and gone. The official deadline is 4 p.m. ET on Nov. 10, so there’s not much time left for teams to trade and shake hands.

On Thursday, ESPN’s Bill Barnwell rattled off trade ideas that seem possible before the trade deadline comes and goes. After the trade deadline passes, of course, NFL player contracts will no longer be assigned or traded from one team to the next.

The New York Giants are real contenders this season, and that means new head coach John Harbaugh and the crew could be in the mix for a real trade.

John Harbaugh could call up his brother’s team, Jim Harbaugh and the Los Angeles Chargers

In the piece, Barnwell entertains the idea of a bold trade with Harbaugh’s brother’s team, Jim Harbaugh and the Los Angeles Chargers.

“With the Chargers still winless, Harbaugh could call up former Ravens executive Joe Hortiz (and brother Jim Harbaugh) and attempt to make a move for Dalvin Tomlinson,” he notes. “The well-traveled defensive tackle has slipped as a pass rusher from his 2020-24 peak, but Tomlinson would be a rotational player for a Giants team that’s barely getting by on the interior.”

It’s fun to think of the Harbaugh brothers working out this deal. But it would obviously be more advantageous to John and the Giants to get a star running back like Baltimore Ravens’ Derrick Henry. Barnwell mentions that possibility in the future, too. So, if they want to go bold, it may just be for Henry.
