The Jacksonville Jaguars are set to face off against the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday Night Football in Week 9, and heading into this matchup, the Ravens will be without both Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley at quarterback.

While the Jaguars don’t have an injury issue as significant as the Ravens losing their QB1 and QB2, there is one very key injury to monitor right now: running back Bhayshul Tuten.

After not participating in practice on Monday or Tuesday, his Wednesday report was going to be a big one for his Week 9 status. According to the Jaguars’ latest injury report, there is a real question about whether Tuten will be good to go this week or not.

Jaguars’ Bhayshul Tuten is very questionable for Week 9 after latest practice report

On the Jaguars’ injury report for Wednesday’s practice, Tuten was, once again, listed as a non-participant at practice due to an ankle/foot issue. That doesn’t bode well for him to play this week.

While he was able to finish out Week 8 against the Indianapolis Colts, there is now serious doubt about Tuten’s ability to play in Week 9 against the depleted Ravens.

The Jaguars are still listing him as questionable to play, but after not practicing all week leading up to this matchup, against a team that the Jaguars should beat easily, even without Tuten, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Tuten sat this week.

He hasn’t been ruled out, so there is a chance he feels good enough to go Thursday that he does suit up. But his status is very shaky at this moment, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he didn’t play on a short week.

If he can’t go, the Jaguars will rely on Chris Rodriguez Jr., LeQuint Allen, and Ameer Abdullah as the main running backs on Thursday night, with Rodriguez likely getting the lion’s share of the backfield touches.

The 5-2 Jaguars are in command of the AFC South right now, and a win plus losses from the Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts would be huge for their chances of winning the division.

Tuten, unfortunately, might not go this week due to these injury issues in a short week. This might go until game time, but as of now, things aren’t looking good for Tuten to suit up against the Ravens in primetime.
