So far this season, Richmond Randle has been one of the more impressive teams in Texas.
Fresh off of winning a state title last season in just their third year of varsity football, the Lions haven’t missed a beat, going 4-0 and have moved up to No. 2 in the latest edition of The Sporting News Top 25 Texas rankings. Last week, they rolled past a solid Fort Bend Marshall squad, 51-6, in their opening game of District 9-5A Division II action.
But Thursday, the Lions face another undefeated squad in Iowa Colony. Like Randle, the Pioneers also come in at 4-0, having defeated Baytown Lee, 57-0, in their District 9-5A Division II opener.
Both teams also feature stellar offensive standouts. Iowa Colony quarterback Carson White has thrown for 617 yards and 14 TDs while adding more than 200 yards rushing and four TDs. Randle is led by junior tailback Landen Williams-Callis, who has 863 yards and 14 TDs.
