The Philadelphia Eagles are 3-0 to start the season and they are preparing to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-0) on the road this weekend. There have been many questions about the Eagles offense through the first three games of the season.
It has not looked like the same offense as it did in 2024. Quarterback Jalen Hurts won the Super Bowl MVP last season. A lot of people view him as a top five quarterback in the NFL, but some think he isn’t a top 10 quarterback. Is he still a top tier quarterback despite his early season struggles?
NFL Insider Has Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts as a Top 5 Quarterback
Cody Benjamin of CBS Sports listed his quarterback rankings entering week four of the 2025 NFL season. He has Hurts ranked as the fourth best quarterback in the NFL entering this week. Benjamin said,
“When you need a victory, he’s ready to answer. Hurts, now 3-0, may be more rugged than visually appealing as a passer, but boy does he protect and distribute the rock when the time is right.”
They trailed the Los Angeles Rams 26-7 last week and the Eagles rallied to win that game 33-26. In three games this season, he has completed 71.4% of his passes for 479 yards and three touchdowns. Hurts has not thrown an interception yet this season. He also has rushed for 117 yards on 32 carries and four touchdowns, along with averaging 3.7 yards per carry.
There is no doubt that if he were to get hurt for this team, this offense would not operate the same with Tanner McKee at quarterback. No matter the criticism that Hurts faces, he is no doubt one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL because all he does is win and does it many different ways.
