The Oregon Ducks have maintained their undefeated record through three games in the 2025 season. Before opening Big Ten Conference play on Sept. 27 against No. 2 Penn State, the Ducks will first face in-state rival Oregon State.
Quarterback Dante Moore will look to continue his impressive first year leading the Ducks, but the status of starting running back Noah Whittington is still up in the air after sitting out of their Sept. 13 win over Northwestern.
Heading into the new week, there’s no certainty on what to expect from the redshirt senior.
Dan Lanning gives injury update to RB Noah Whittington
Although Oregon did just fine on the ground in their 34-14 win over Northwestern in Week 3, totaling 176 rushing yards and three touchdowns, the Ducks were without starting running back Noah Whittington.
Whittington travelled with the team last week and participated in warmups, but was scratched from the lineup and didn’t play.
After their matchup, head coach Dan Lanning gave an update on the running back, saying his status is “to be determined.”
“We’ll see,” Lanning said, according to Zachary Neel of Ducks Wire. “You know, if he’s ready, we’ll have him out there.”

Through two games this season as the lead back for the Ducks, Whittington has totaled 14 carries for 159 yards and two touchdowns. If he’s unable to suit up, Oregon will lean on Makhi Hughes, Da’Jaun Riggs, Jayden Limar, and Dierre Hill Jr moving forward.
