On Sunday night, the Toronto Raptors are set to take on the Minnesota Timberwolves, with the match guaranteeing to end one of the franchise’s spotless starts to the year as both go into the match with a 2-0 record.
But it appears that Toronto’s task was just made that much harder, as they’ll be without one of their key players: Kawhi Leonard.

As reported by HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto, Leonard will sit out against Minnesota due to left knee swelling. His absence against the Timberwolves will be his first of the season, after making appearances in the opening two matches thus far.
Leonard made his way back to the Scotiabank Arena in the offseason and has been an integral part of Toronto’s plans this season, averaging 19.5 points and 7.5 rebounds. While they aren’t the numbers that he was producing last season with the Los Angeles Clippers, it’s worth noting that it’s only the early days of the season, as he has gotten quite an upgrade in depth choices to share the court with.
Darko Rajakovic has the likes of Allen Graves and Jamison Battle to pick from on the wing. Graves was selected with the 19th pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, and hasn’t had the best showing in his first two games of his career, averaging 3.5 points and 3.5 rebounds across 13 minutes on the court.
Tip-off between the Raptors and Timberwolves is slated for 7:00 p.m. EST.
