Only two teams will face off in their Championship Series on Wednesday night: the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Milwaukee Brewers.

Los Angeles finally gets to return home in a last-ditch effort to salvage this series. They’re on the ropes down 2-0, and Milwaukee has just looked like the better ball club during the opening two games of this series and the postseason as a whole.

Blake Snell will take the mound after a strong, but short, start against Atlanta in the NLDS. He only allowed a run last time out, but he tallied 90 pitches through just 3.2 IP. Shohei Ohtani, after murmurs that he would be benched and that he is battling through injury, will remain in Los Angeles’ starting lineup tonight even though he only has one hit in the last four games.

Robert Gasser, a 27-year-old southpaw, got the starting nod as he’s transitioned more to a starter during the 2026 season. Milwaukee opted not to keep their lefty in the game for too long against San Diego in the NLDS, and they should opt to use the same approach here against a much more dangerous Dodgers side.

The Brewers haven’t won three games just yet, but tonight feels like it’s a do-or-die game for the Dodgers. The highly-touted favorite could find itself on the ropes if they go into a 3-0 hole after the evening’s matchup, but Blake Snell should give them a chance to right their ship. His last three starts, including his NLDS appearance against Atlanta, all featured the 33-year-old pitching no more than four innings. Milwaukee’s best is hounding LA’s starter early in order to get to their bullpen. However, the Brewers have a pitcher in Robert Gasser making his first NLCS start. He pitched alright against San Diego in the NLDS, but he too couldn’t get into the fifth inning.

Playing in front of their own home crowd could be what LA needs to swing the momentum their way. Dodger Stadium can be electric when their team is winning, and the crowd gets into it. Take the home side to jump out early; after the fifth inning, nothing else matters for this bet.

Best MLB Playoffs player props for Wednesday

Gasser did well during the first postseason start of his career against the Padres. He didn’t stay in long, and he allowed San Diego’s only run of the game, but that damage didn’t exceed that. However, now he’s tasked with a Dodgers team that is seething to break out and win some games in this series. Los Angeles was able to get five hits off of Jacob Misiorowski in Game 1, but they only tallied three off of Logan Henderson in Game 2. LA’s last game against Gasser featured eight hits across 6.1 IP. Milwaukee likely won’t let today’s game get to that point, but the Dodgers seem poised to make a statement early in front of their home fans. Take Gasser’s over on 3.5 hits allowed.

Before last night, Andy Pages had finished with two or more H+R+R in three straight games. In most games, he sits around the seventh spot in the batting order between Max Muncy and Kyle Tucker, who both pose the risk of knocking the ball around the yard. Pages has hit off of Gasser well in his career, a 4-for-5 mark with a home run. His team needs runs desperately, or their season is as good as gone tonight. Pages is more than capable of scoring LA’s top of the order in if they’re already on base.
