The Cleveland Browns are feeling good, sitting atop the AFC North after their Week 4 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Their youth movement has been very encouraging to see lately.

Not only has the 2025 draft class continued to show up, but their rookies from 2026, especially wide receivers Denzel Boston and KC Concepcion, have looked great as well. But thanks to those two rookie receivers, one veteran has become expendable.

As ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Sunday morning before the Week 4 slate kicks off, Browns wide receiver Jerry Jeudy reportedly “could be had” in a trade this season thanks to the production of Boston and Concepcion so far this season.

Browns’ Jerry Jeudy ‘could be had’ by NFL trade deadline

“Jerry Jeudy, the Browns WR, Cleveland has gotten a lot of production out of Denzel Boston and KC Concepcion,” Schefter said. “Jeudy being squeezed out, he could be had before the trade deadline.”

This report from Schefter should not be a huge surprise, as it makes perfect sense for the Browns to trade away their veteran receiver this season with how well their other receivers are performing.

Boston and Concepción look like a strong WR duo, and with both being fairly cheap, young, and controllable for the next four-plus seasons, there’s no real reason to keep Jeudy.

He has five receptions for 62 yards this season and is not nearly as involved as he has been in years prior. With Isaiah Bond ready to take over some work in the WR room as well, the Browns have good reason to move on from Jeudy.

Jeudy is on a three-year, $52.5 million contract right now that runs through the 2028 season, so an acquiring team would be able to get a WR who’s under contract for the next few seasons.

A team like the Kansas City Chiefs, San Francisco 49ers, or Las Vegas Raiders would make a lot of sense as a Jeudy landing spot this season.

The Browns receiver can be had in a trade this season, according to Schefter, as long as there are interested teams. If teams show an interest in trading for Jeudy, Browns fans should prepare to see him dealt.

He might stick around, especially if the Browns are in contention by the trade deadline. But if not, then Jeudy is about as obvious a trade candidate as there is in the NFL, and he’s very much in play to be dealt this Fall.
