  • NBA Draft picks tracker 2025: Live results, updates, list of selections from Rounds 1-2

The NBA Draft can set the course for a franchise and bring in young talent capable of making an immediate impact. Just ask this year’s NBA champions.

The Thunder, the youngest team to win an NBA title since the 1976-77 Trail Blazers, have two starters who were selected in the 2022 NBA Draft (Chet Holmgren, Jalen Williams). With brilliant scouting and draft strategy, general manager Sam Presti guided a team that went 24-58 in 2021-2022 to hoisting the Larry O’Brien trophy in 2025.

The Mavericks hope they can follow a similar blueprint to their Western Conference counterparts. After the stunning trade of the franchise cornerstone, Luka Doncic, general manager Nico Harrison is expected to select Cooper Flagg at No. 1 overall. Things went sideways for Dallas after the deal, but Harrison is hoping the Duke star can immediately make the team a championship contender.

Over the course of two rounds, there will be more franchise-altering decisions. Teams could vault up to get their guy, or slide back to stockpile selections. There will be buzz about some of the league’s biggest stars being on the move, and international players who could be hidden gems will be introduced to fans for the first time. Whatever transpires, the foundation for someone’s championship run will be set.

The Sporting News has you covered on all the picks and key trades from the 2025 NBA Draft.
