  • How F1 stars spent the summer break ahead of the Dutch Grand Prix

The 2025 Formula 1 summer break comes to an end this week as the drivers ready themselves for a return to the Dutch Grand Prix after a well-deserved break. Here’s how the drivers spent their 21-day holiday.

Lando Norris

The McLaren championship contender took off for Amsterdam, the Netherlands, where he stayed at the five-star Waldorf Astoria Hotel in the exclusive Van Loon Suite. He was also spotted with his partner Margarida Corceiro in Ibiza. The Briton also attended the Esports World Cup.

Oscar Piastri

The championship leader Piastri spent time with his fellow team members, but flew somewhere tropical with his partner, Lily Zneimer. From photos posted to his Instagram feed, it looks as though he visited Mykonos, Greece, and maybe the Gulf of Orosei on Sardinia’s east coast.

Lewis Hamilton

The seven-time world champion spent his time on the Greek island of Paros while his dog, Roscoe, was seen in a special edition of Vogue.

Charles Leclerc

Alongside his partner, Alexandra Saint-Mleux, the Ferrari driver spent time in Costa Smeralda and Porto Cervo – two resorts in Sardinia. Following this, he visited Saint-Tropez with his family.

George Russell

The Mercedes driver enjoyed his time with his partner Carmen Montero Mundt. The two were photographed on a yacht together as the driver made room for workouts and training sessions on the deck. Cue the topless photographs off what looks like the Amalfi Coast, Italy.

Kimi Antonelli

The rookie driver spent time with family and friends in Greece. He was videoed being hilariously ejected from an inflatable as he enjoyed water tubing.

Max Verstappen

The four-time champion enjoyed time with his family and newborn daughter, Lily. Spending time on the Red Bull driver’s yacht, he went e-foiling in what looks to be Sardinia.

Yuki Tsunoda

The Japanese driver headed straight to Red Bull for simulator training before he could start his holiday after a difficult start to his time in the Milton Keynes team.

Alex Albon

The Williams driver spent time in the Dolomites with his partner Lily He after they were seen yachting together. Again, it looks as though the two spent time in Sardinia.

Carlos Sainz

The Spaniard spent time on a yacht with his father and other family members. When the ladder to his yacht became detached, he dived several metres down to retrieve his “biggest catch of the season.”

Lance Stroll

While Fernando Alonso has been radio silent throughout this three-week break, Stroll has enjoyed his time off yachting, golfing and, if it’s him driving on his Instagram post, doing a bit of rallying.

Pierre Gasly

After posting a cryptic update to his Instagram feed of a new product by the driver, Gasly spent time with his partner Francisca ‘Kika’ Cerqueira Gomes and family, where he was seen golfing, karting and enjoying his time off. While it isn’t confirmed, it looks as though he spent time in the Algarve.

Franco Colapinto

The Argentinian driver kept on top of his fitness during his holiday. While he spent time on a yacht in what looks to be near Turkey, he made sure to keep his fitness levels high as he continues to push for his future at Alpine.

Esteban Ocon

With his partner Flavy Barla and his family, the Frenchman enjoyed time on a yacht while maintaining his fitness through the holiday. From his photos, it looks as though he was spending time in Sardinia.

Oliver Bearman

The Haas driver celebrated his brother’s 18th birthday behind the wheel of a number of special cars, including a Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R, a Ford Mustang, and a BMW drift car.

Nico Hulkenberg

The German driver spent time with his wife, Egle Ruskyte, and daughter, where they enjoyed time in the sea. From the Instagram story he posted, it looks as though he spent time in Turkey.

Gabriel Bortoleto

While the young Sauber driver was on holiday, he didn’t shy away from spending time behind the wheel. He went karting with his family, AND took a new stock car for a spin. He even awarded the Stock Car trophy to Cesar Ramos, the winner of race two in Curvelo.
