  • F1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix: Where to watch the race, start time, qualifying results, what to know

The 2025 Azerbaijan Grand Prix takes place Sunday, 21 September at 3pm local time. Red Bull’s Max Verstappen will start the race at the Baku City Circuit from pole position after the chaotic qualifying session was disrupted by six red flags.

Joining the four-time Formula 1 champion on the front row will be Williams’ Carlos Sainz, his best start since arriving at the Grove outfit at the start of the year. Forming the second row is Racing Bulls rookie Liam Lawson in third and Mercedes rookie Andrea Kimi Antonelli in fourth.

Current championship leader Oscar Piastri suffered a violent crash in qualifying, meaning he will start from ninth, and his main rival and McLaren team-mate Lando Norris will start from seventh on the grid.

Here is everything you need to know to catch all of the on-track action, including where to watch live, the start time, the starting grid, news to catch up on, and the drivers’ and constructors’ standings.
