So far, ex-Colorado Buffaloes football star Shedeur Sanders is consistently impressing everyone in the Browns building.
After his fifth-round slide in the 2025 NFL Draft, Sanders is shaping up his redemption arc through his practice sessions. After an impressive college career and a controversial pre-draft “arrogant” image, the QB is solely focused on painting himself to be the QB in Brown and Orange.
Head coach Kevin Stefanski has attested to it as well, giving Sanders a glowing review for his efforts, especially in the recently concluded minicamp.
“I don’t know that we’ve learned anything new because, like you mentioned, we have a great feel for this young man,” Stefanski affirmed on Cleveland Browns Daily.
“As a young player — I don’t care what position you’re playing — you’re going to run a play or you’re going to get something wrong. That’s so valuable because then you get to correct it and get it right the next time.
“He’s doing a really, really nice job. I think he’s showing up early, he’s staying late. He continues to get better every single day, and that’s the fun part.”
Furthermore, the Browns’ head coach gave a nod to Sanders’ genuine efforts towards building relationships with people in the Browns’ building.
“He’s a very, very hard worker; he has fun when he’s in the building. I’m enjoying watching him progress with every single meeting, with every single rep he’s doing a great job,” Stefanski said.
“Having him (Sanders) in the meeting room, he brings a great personality in there. To see those two bounce ideas off each other is hilarious. Joe will say a couple of things, and I’ll be like, ‘Joe, Shedeur wasn’t born. He wasn’t born then.’ He’s got great energy, great kid, working his tail off, and he’s playing really well too.”
All that praise, and the fans still know that Sanders has little chance of starting in Week 1.
He can in the later weeks, though. Maybe. But not in week 1.
Sanders is putting in the hard work, and the Browns are seasoning it to perfection.
Whenever Sanders does get on the field for the Browns, starter or not, they will see a better version of him than he was in black and gold.
