Barcelona have stepped up their activity in the summer transfer window. They have already wrapped up the deal of Joan Garcia from Espanyol and are now working on other players.

They are now working closely to wrap up the signing of Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams. In the meantime, Fabrizio Romano reported that the Catalans are chasing Copenhagen winger Roony Bardghji.

As per reports, the talks are in the final stages, and the 19-year-old is expected to complete his move to Camp Nou in the upcoming week.

Interestingly, Bardghji is out of contract with Copenhagen in December 2025, and apparently, he has told his current club that he won’t renew his contract. Therefore, he is all set to move out for a nominal transfer fee.

According to some reports from Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona understand that a bid in the region of €2m (£1.7m) to €3m (£2.6m) will be enough to prise out the Swedish starlet from Denmark.

The 19-year-old winger’s recent performances have seen him attract interest from all across Europe. But the Swedish teenager is inclined towards a move to Barcelona. He is reportedly a childhood Barcelona fan and would love to move to Camp Nou if the opportunity arises.

Who is Barcelona target Roony Bardghji?

Predominantly a right-winger, Bardghji featured for clubs like Malmo and Copenhagen during his youth days. He eventually broke into the Copenhagen first team in the 2021/22 season.

The 2022/23 season saw him take the next step for Copenhagen, scoring 10 goals in 34 matches across competitions. However, he suffered an ACL injury and missed the majority of the last season.

The youngster has poise, promise and great potential to flourish at Camp Nou. He is fast, skilful and is known for his knack of scoring goals or registering key passes in the final third.

If his move to Barcelona materialises, it will be interesting to see how he copes with the pressure at Camp Nou, especially after returning from a major knee injury. It will be interesting to see if he is added to the first team or would be loaned out for a season so that he could secure some gametime.
