Jordon Hudson is sticking by Bill Belichick despite news of their breakup making headlines in the past week.
The cheerleader was reportedly at Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill, N.C., on Saturday, Oct. 31, as Belichick coached the Tar Heels when they faced the Miami Hurricanes, per People. UNC fell short to the Hurricanes, losing 38-35.
After the game, his relationship with Hudson came up again when Brian Murphy of WRAL asked Belichick if he had “any comment” on the split. Murphy added that if the breakup would have any effect on UNC’s football program moving forward.
Belichick had a fiery response to Murphy’s question, asking the reporter, “Do you work for a tabloid now?”
After a moment, he added: “I’ll keep my personal comments and relationships to myself if that’s alright with you.”
Jordon Hudson and Bill Belichick Split
The couple quietly split a year ago, according to several reports, but it was unbeknownst to the public until last week. The couple went public with their relationship in 2024 after meeting in 2021 on a flight from Boston to Florida. They started dating in 2023.
It’s not surprising the Hudson would show up to support Belichick, as a source spoke to TMZ, sharing that they are “committed to their business partnerships and remain close friends.”
Belichick reportedly shared his frustration with having the news break so close to his Oct. 31 UNC game.
“He would much rather this stayed under wraps,” the source told The Daily Mail. ‘The last thing he wanted was a distraction, but unfortunately, here they are, having to deal with it at the worst possible time. It’s certainly not the way he wanted this week to unfold.”
An insider told the outlet that while the UNC football head coach was looking forward to having a life with Hudson, there was a lot of “outside scrutiny” that kept being a hardship in their relationship.
“‘Looking back, that was a big part of what pulled his focus away from football last season,” the source explained. “He was thinking about taking the next steps with her, getting engaged, getting married, and building a future together, while also dealing with the constant attention and outside scrutiny that came with being in such a high-profile relationship. It became overwhelming for both of them.”
Besides Belichick’s comments during the press conference last week, the former couple has not addressed the split.
The next UNC game will be against the UConn Huskies on Nov. 7 at 12 pm ET.
