Paul Skenes and his girlfriend, Olivia Dunne, are enjoying some much-needed downtime in Japan.

But Pittsburgh Pirates fans are selfishly worried about their star pitcher, and the reason is pretty funny.

He needs to be careful with his million-dollar pitching arm.

The 24-year-old MLB star and former LSU gymnast have been exploring the streets of Japan together during the MLB offseason. And in true Olivia fashion, the social media influencer has been sharing several behind-the-scenes glimpses of the couple’s overseas getaway on social media.

In a TikTok video shared on Wednesday, Oct. 28, Dunne, 24, shared a sweet clip of Skenes carrying her through the streets of Kyoto as Lana Del Rey’s song “Video Games” played in the background.

“the view is good up here :),” she captioned the clip.

While plenty of fans gushed over the adorable moment, others shared their concerns over Skenes‘ valuable pitching arm.

“Easy on his throwing arm,” one fan commented.

“As long as you’re not hanging on the right arm 😂,” another joked.

“He picked her up with the left arm. Baseball is safe,” a third added.

Paul Skenes and Olivia Dunne enjoy Japan getaway

The couple, who have been dating since 2023, have been making the most of their time together since the Pirates’ season ended in September.

Their recent getaway included stops in Tokyo and Kyoto, where Dunne shared photos of herself rocking a traditional Japanese kimono and a hilarious video of her trying sumo wrestling.

“Type of stuff my bf signs me up for when I’m already overstimulated,” Dunne joked in her Oct. 25 TikTok post.

Dunne wore an oversized inflatable sumo suit, as she faced off against a much larger man in the clip.

“Hardest I’ve laughed in years,” one person commented.

“This is pure ABSOLUTE CINEMA,” a second wrote.

“Mind you, we wanted to see you on DWTS but this is a good second choice,” a third added.

Dunne confirmed in her comments section that Skenes, too, took a shot at sumo wrestling.

She just left that clip out.

Their trip wasn’t all sightseeing and giggles, though.

They also hit up a three-day USO Tour to visit American military members and their families stationed overseas.

“Getting to spend time with our service members and their families in Japan was an incredible experience,” Skenes said in a statement shared by the USO.

“One of the highlights for me was being able to connect with the kids, play some baseball, and just have fun together. Seeing their excitement and getting to know the families who make so many sacrifices alongside those who serve really meant a lot to me.”

The Japan visit was the couple’s second USO stop together. They also stopped by a USO tour in 2025.
