On Sunday night, the Memphis Grizzlies are set to visit California for a match against the Sacramento Kings, as they look to extend their flawless start to the season, which was added to earlier on in the week with a win over the Golden State Warriors.

That match wasn’t pretty for a good chunk of the game for Memphis, as Golden State once held a 12-point lead over them, but a 27-18 scoring split in the fourth quarter would see them come out on top against the Warriors. But it appears one player who played a key role in their win against Golden State won’t suit up on Sunday night.

Grizzlies rule out Zach Edey

According to the Grizzlies injury report, Zach Edey will sit out against Sacramento due to left ankle injury management. His absence against the Kings will be his first of the season and will leave Memphis with a sizable hole in their lineup, as Edey has been averaging seven points and 9.5 rebounds per game, with his scoring numbers dipping due to other quality options, but his rebounding numbers are nearly chief on the team.

In his place, Tuomas Iisalo has the likes of Isaiah Stewart and Quinten Post to pick from to fill the minutes in.

Tip-off between the Grizzlies and Kings is slated for 9:00 p.m. EST.
