The Los Angeles Dodgers, coming off back-to-back World Series titles in 2024 and 2025, are now at the brink of elimination from the postseason in the NLCS.

Facing a dominant Milwaukee Brewers team, the Dodgers have dropped the first three games of this NLCS and now face a 3-0 deficit. One more loss, and the Dodgers’ three-peat hopes are gone. They’ll need to win four straight to stay alive.

So, how did this Dodgers’ superteam get here? Well, B/R Walk-Off shared one simple statistic that tells fans everything they need to know about why the Dodgers are down 3-0. That stat? The Dodgers have zero home runs this series.

Simple Dodgers stat explains 3-0 deficit to Brewers

“The Dodgers haven’t hit a single homer so far this series… Their season is on the line as they face a 3-0 deficit in the NLCS,” B/R Walk-Off shared on Twitter/x.

While there are plenty of other reasons why the Dodgers are down 3-0 in this series, including the heroics of Jackson Chourio and Jake Bauers, this one stat really sums it up nicely.

Milwaukee has gotten homers from multiple players, including Chourio, Bauers, William Contreras, Garrett Mitchell, and Brice Turang.

On the other hand, the Dodgers don’t have a single homer so far in this NLCS. Despite their superteam and the star power scattered throughout this lineup, the Dodgers have no homers in the NLCS through three games.

Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, Kyle Tucker, Max Muncy, Enrique Hernandez, Miguel Rojas, Tommy Edman, Will Smith, Andy Pages, and Teoscar Hernandez have all not hit a home run this series.

There’s a lot more to this 3-0 deficit than the Dodgers’ lack of power-hitting, but it’s certainly playing a massive role in their struggles so far.

If the Dodgers had gotten a clutch home run just one time, they might be down just 2-1 instead of a full 3-0. Facing elimination Thursday night, this home run drought is a real problem.

The NLCS isn’t over yet, and the Dodgers can make a comeback that Dave Roberts is all too familiar with. But it’s an incredible long shot, especially if these home run woes continue in this series.
