The Cleveland Browns are off to a rollicking start with a 3-1 record coming out of their win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in “Thursday Night Football.” People aren’t booing quarterback Deshaun Watson now. He’s helped lead this team to a solid start.
Now that the Browns are performing at a high level, it may be time for the higher-ups to make some decisions on what to do before the trade deadline to give the team the best chance to succeed in the postseason.
On Friday, following “Thursday Night Football” and ahead of the rest of the Week 4 games, Dan Graziano of ESPN names a handful of trades that could happen in the NFL.
The Cleveland Browns are being encouraged to make a trade
Graziano suggests that the Browns trade wide receiver Jerry Jeudy ahead of the deadline. He’s just 27 years old and linked through 2027, so it’s an apt time to trade him and get something in return.
In the piece, he notes that the team’s “wide receiver corps has been taken over by rookies, and Jeudy might no longer fit squarely into the plans. He’s owed about $23 million in salary and bonus for 2027, but it’s not guaranteed, so an acquiring team wouldn’t likely be deterred by that.”
Graziano adds that he has notched “two catches for 26 yards in 2026, and he had just 602 last season (though he cracked 1,200 in 2024, his first year in Cleveland).”
So, the Browns may consider a trade or two before the trade deadline, especially if it puts them in a better position when the playoffs come around. Not to get ahead of ourselves.
