In 2023, the Dominican Republic had a disappointing World Baseball Classic run, failing to qualify past the group stage and into the knockout stage.
This time around, the Dominican Republic returns to the WBC with stars all over the roster, headlined by Juan Soto, Fernando Tatis Jr. and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. While the lineup is certainly stronger than the pitching, the team does boast Cristopher Sanchez and Sandy Alcantara at the top of the rotation.
More interestingly, future Hall of Famer Albert Pujols will serve as the team’s manager for the first time in his post-playing career. Pujols previously played for the Dominican Republic in the World Baseball Classic, and he began managing in the Dominican Republic after his retirement.
With a team full of MLB stars, the Dominican Republic expects to make a run at the WBC title this time around, hoping to be named champions for the second time ever.
Here’s everything you need to know about the Dominican Republic’s World Baseball Classic roster and all the details for watching every game.
