CHANDLER, Arizona, Nov. 7 — Chandler continues to set the pace against the No. 25 Hamilton Huskies. The Wolves are up, 34-23, in the third quarter.
Preview
It’s been a tough year for top-ranked teams in Arizona. The Liberty [Peoria, AZ] Lions were considered the frontrunners early before the Basha [Chandler, AZ] Bears emerged to take over the top spot in the Grand Canyon State. But the Bears’ loss to the Hamilton two weeks ago moved Hamilton to the forefront in the state’s pecking order, and now it’s Chandler’s turn to see if they can take over the top spot.

|| THIRD QUARTER ||
After a change of possession, Roye Oliver III catches a short swing pass and takes it 57 yards to the end zone. That’s what Oliver does, and Chandler’s done a good job of containing Hamilton’s offense tonight. But if Oliver gets going, this game could change quickly.

Hamilton has added a field goal, but the math isn’t working for the Huskies. They’ve had to settle for field goals on their last three scores while Chandler has been scoring touchdowns all night. With just a little over five minutes to play in the third quarter, it’s urgent that Hamilton starts scoring touchdowns if they want to stay in this.

It’s not surprising that Chandler is competing tonight and playing well. But I don’t think many people expected them to be up by 17 points late in the first half. They’ve added a touchdown, but the PAT was no good.
