Before baseball fans indulge in the MLB playoffs, the Triple-A national championship must commence.
The stage is set as the Las Vegas Aviators will play the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp. The Aviators are the Athletics‘ top affiliate, while the Shrimp feed the Marlins.
Jacksonville won the International League Championship Series in three games, defeating the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders. Game 3 was one-sided until late with the Jumbo Shrimp winning 7-4.
Meanwhile, the Aviators won the Pacific Coast League Championship Series in two games over the Tacoma Rainiers. This is the first time the team has won the league since 1988.
