The NFL’s Week 9 slate features a 15-game card that includes an early 9:30 a.m. ET kickoff in Madrid, Spain between the Cincinnati Bengals and Atlanta Falcons, and it closes with the Buffalo Bills at the Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football.

For anyone trading on prediction markets, same game parlays on ProphetX deserve a long look this week, and the payouts aren’t the only reason. Best NFL Week 8 same game parlays

New York Jets at Kansas City Chiefs

Kansas City’s offense looked like itself again once Rashee Rice returned Sunday in Denver. Patrick Mahomes threw for 327 yards and three touchdowns in the 28-24 loss, and Rice was in the middle of it, catching seven of his eight targets for 53 yards and an 11-yard score on the opening drive. In the two games he missed with a hamstring injury, the Chiefs’ wide receivers combined for six catches and 39 yards in a 20-3 loss to Seattle, so it’s clear how much this passing game runs through him.

The Jets are 2-6 and have dropped three straight, and their defense just let the Raiders put up 38 points while going a perfect 4-for-4 in the red zone. Kansas City should come home in a foul mood after losing control of the AFC West, and a team whose season is slipping away is a good opponent to take that out on. The two legs also line up well together. If the Chiefs win by double digits, there’s a good chance Rice found the end zone along the way.

Detroit Lions vs. Miami Dolphins

Detroit has had to grind out its last two games, getting held to 20 points by Green Bay and 19 by Minnesota, but the Lions should have a much easier time against Miami. The Dolphins are 1-6, and their defense is allowing opposing quarterbacks a passer rating close to 120 while letting offenses convert just over half of their third downs. Detroit came into the week second in the league at more than 30 points per game, so this number asks the Lions to look like themselves again against one of the worst defenses they’ll see all season.

Jameson Williams has been a big part of how this offense finishes drives. He caught the game-winning seven-yard touchdown from Jared Goff against the Vikings, and he’s averaging 16 yards per catch, so he can score from the red zone or from midfield. Miami is going to have its hands full with Jahmyr Gibbs after he ran for 153 yards last week, and stacking the box against him leaves Williams with one-on-one coverage on the outside. If Detroit gets to 30, I like Williams’ chances of being involved in at least one of those scores, which makes this a combo worth taking at better than even money.

Carolina Panthers vs. Denver Broncos

Carolina’s defense has been bad enough that they fired the defensive coordinator two weeks ago, and it hasn’t helped much. The Panthers allowed 43 points in one loss, and 27 in the next, and running backs have scored more fantasy points against them than against any other team. They rank 28th in yards per carry allowed, and they’re also dealing with a long injury list on both sides of the ball.

Jonah Coleman looks like the back to take advantage of that. With RJ Harvey on injured reserve, the rookie played nearly 68% of the snaps in Denver’s fourth-quarter comeback against Kansas City. He ran 11 times for 41 yards and caught four passes for 63 more, and the game-winning drive was basically all him: a 51-yard catch-and-run followed by a five-yard touchdown. J.K. Dobbins will still get some early-down work, but Coleman is getting the snaps that lead to scores, and this matchup sets up well for him to find the end zone again.

For the over, I’m counting on Bo Nix and the Broncos’ offense more than anything Carolina does with the ball. Still, Bryce Young has thrown for more than 1,900 yards, so the Panthers can put some points on the board at home. Denver has won four straight and only has to win this game outright, and a Broncos win with Coleman scoring along the way would push this total higher. Bettors already moved the number up a point from where it opened at 42.5, and I’m fine following them.

Best NFL Week 9 SGP value plays on OG.com

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Baltimore Ravens

  • Trevor Lawrence over 224.5 passing yards
  • Joe Fagnon under 174.5 passing yards
  • Derrick Henry under 69.5 rushing yards
  • Odds: (4.14x at OG.com)

Baltimore’s quarterback room is in rough shape heading into Thursday night. Lamar Jackson needed thumb surgery, Tyler Huntley hurt his toe in the same loss to Buffalo, and that leaves Joe Fagnano, an undrafted rookie out of UConn, to make his first NFL start on a short week. He wasn’t sharp after being thrown into that game, going 10 of 21 for 91 yards with an interception and a lost fumble, and he’s also playing through an ankle injury. Asking him to throw for 175 yards against a 5-2 Jacksonville team on four days of prep is a lot.

The Henry under goes along with that. With Fagnano under center, the Jaguars know exactly what’s coming and can load the box against Derrick Henry. The Ravens have already been predictable with him, running the ball on more than 62% of his snaps, and he’s had only one fourth-quarter touch over the past two weeks. If Jacksonville builds a lead the way the 9.5-point spread suggests, Baltimore probably won’t have much time to keep feeding him.

The Lawrence leg is the one I’m watching most closely, because blowouts can cut both ways for a quarterback. He threw just 14 passes in the 42-7 rout of the Colts, though he still turned those into 210 yards and three scores. Lawrence has been one of the most efficient passers in the league, with 17 touchdowns against four interceptions while averaging about 241 yards a game. Against a Ravens team that has dropped three straight, he should be able to clear this number before the Jaguars start running out the clock.

Best same game parlay strategies for prediction markets

Build around one game script

The best same game parlays all tell the same story. If you expect a favorite to control the game, pair their spread with their lead back finding the end zone or their quarterback going over his passing yards. If you expect a backup quarterback to struggle, his passing under fits well with the other team pulling away. When the legs work against each other, like a big favorite covering while the underdog’s quarterback throws for 300, you’re mostly just making the ticket harder to hit.

Know what the percentage is telling you

Prediction markets usually show prices as a percentage or a payout multiplier instead of American odds, so it helps to convert them before comparing. A parlay priced at 35.3% works out to about +183, while 52.52% is closer to -111. Once you put it in sportsbook terms, it’s easier to tell whether the exchange is giving you a better number than the book down the street.

Shop across exchanges

ProphetX, Kalshi and OG.com all price parlays on their own, and because those prices come from other traders rather than a house line, the same combo can be several points apart from one platform to the next. A couple of percentage points might not look like much on one ticket, but it adds up over a full season.

Keep tickets to two or three legs

Every leg you add is another chance for the ticket to fall apart, and on an exchange, longer parlays can also run into liquidity limits. ProphetX shows how much liquidity is available before you confirm, and tickets loaded with niche player props tend to hit that cap first. Two or three correlated legs usually give you the best mix of payout and a price you can actually get filled.

Let the fee structure work for you

ProphetX takes 2% of net winnings on straight trades but doesn’t charge a fee on parlays. If you were already planning to play two correlated legs separately, combining them keeps the full profit in your account. Fees vary by platform and can change, so check the breakdown on the ticket before you confirm.
