The sports world took a backseat on Tuesday during Election Day, which was a huge success for the Democrats and a huge disappointment for the Republicans.
Many people in sports responded to the outcome, with several people criticizing President Donald Trump in the process. That included Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr, who has never been afraid to speak out on political issues.
During Trump’s presidencies, Kerr has been a major critic of the Republican Party and has consistently shared his concerns in politics. On Wednesday, Kerr responded to a big night for the Democrats with a sarcastic comment intended to criticize Trump.
Here’s how Kerr trolled Trump after Election Day.

Steve Kerr trolls Donald Trump
Before the Warriors game on Wednesday, the media asked head coach Steve Kerr about his thoughts on the Democrats’ success in the midterm elections. Kerr, a noted Donald Trump critic, took the opportunity to take a jab at the current President.
“I’m just I’m disappointed because I was looking forward to that $5,000 check that we were all going to get,” Kerr joked. “I already spent it, in fact. I was so excited about it and sure about it that I spent it. Now I’m gonna have to figure something out.”

Over the past few weeks, Trump had promised every American a $5,000 check if the Republicans won the midterm elections to maintain control over the House and Senate. That didn’t happen, rendering Trump’s promise moot.
Based on Kerr’s political history and tone, it’s fair to say that he is pretty pleased with Tuesday’s results.
