The Ravens are still afloat in the AFC at .500, but they are in a dark place at the moment.

Not only is Baltimore the only AFC team to start more than one quarterback this season, but injuries are set to force the Ravens to turn to a third quarterback against the Jaguars on “Thursday Night Football.”

In a crowded AFC North, the long-term absence of Lamar Jackson could be a death sentence for a team that started the season with Super Bowl expectations.

Here’s an updated look at the Ravens’ quarterback depth chart heading into the primetime slot.

Ravens QB depth chart: Who will replace Lamar Jackson?

Jackson is set to miss an extended period, perhaps the remainder of the season, after thumb surgery, while backup Tyler Huntley is in line to miss time with a toe injury. As long as both are out, here’s what the Ravens’ depth chart looks like:

1. Joe Fagnano

With Jackson and Huntley out, undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano is in line to start against the Jaguars on Thursday night. Fagnano, however, isn’t fully healthy, either. Ravens coach Jesse Minter told reporters Fagnano is “fighting through a couple of things,” including an ankle injury, though he appears to be on track to start against Jacksonville.

Fagnano signed with the Ravens after going undrafted out of UConn in the spring and earned a roster spot by impressing over the summer. The 25-year-old from Williamsport, Pennsylvania, is already a remarkable story, as he was a walk-on at FCS Maine before transferring to UConn and totaling 28 touchdown passes to one interception in his sixth and final collegiate season.

2. Kedon Slovis

The Ravens’ backup quarterback could be Kedon Slovis, who was signed off the Packers‘ practice squad on Tuesday. Because Slovis was signed off a practice squad, he automatically joined Baltimore’s 53-man roster.

An undrafted quarterback who split his college career between USC, Pittsburgh and BYU, Slovis spent time with the Cardinals and attempted two passes last season, but all of his NFL action has otherwise been relegated to the preseason.

Slovis has spent time with the Colts and Texans in addition to Arizona and Green Bay, so he is well traveled despite limited in-game action.

3. Austin Reed

The Ravens signed Austin Reed to their practice squad on Monday, adding another option behind Fagnano. Also undrafted out of Western Kentucky in 2024, Reed has never thrown an NFL pass and spent this past spring playing for the UFL’s Dallas Renegades.

Reed has some camp experience in Baltimore, as he spent part of August with the team this summer before being waived ahead of final roster cuts.

With Slovis on the 53-man roster, Reed would need a promotion from the practice squad to serve as Fagnano’s direct backup on Thursday night.
