The Philadelphia 76ers have started the 2026-27 NBA season with a 7-1 record. They are living up to the hype that was attached to them since July, after they made the moves to trade for Jaylen Brown and sign LeBron James.
This is certainly one of the league’s most dangerous teams, as they are stacked with talent and are led by a champion head coach in Nick Nurse. Even though they are at the peak of the NBA at the moment, it seems that they are not even the best versions of themselves yet.
Jaylen Brown admits the 76ers are not at their peak just yet
After an impressive 126-107 blowout win against the Chicago Bulls, the 76ers have won seven of their first eight games of the season. Their only loss continues to be the 106-93 loss to the Detroit Pistons.
Despite this success early in the season, it seems the 76ers are not getting ahead of themselves. As one of the most experienced players on the roster, Brown has made sure to not get ahead of himself.

It is still early in the 2026-27 season, so it is not time to celebrate just yet. However, the 76ers have been impressive, so they need to get the praise that they deserve because they deserve that much.
“It’s a lot of talent, man. We like each other; we’re building that chemistry to get this well-oiled machine. I think we’re taking steps forward every single day; we still have a ways to go to becoming a solid, great team… You haven’t seen our best version yet, so that’s a good sign,” Brown said after the 76ers’ win against the Bulls.
This kind of mindset is what could separate the 76ers from the rest of the Eastern Conference. They have been excellent, but they are not satisfied with their achievements so far. If they can take this mentality to the Playoffs, they are a dangerous team.
