When LaMelo Ball arrived in Minnesota, one thing was certain: the Timberwolves guard was going to shoot early and often.
After eight games, it’s clear that Ball hasn’t deviated from that plan. Yes, Ball’s scoring figures lag behind prior campaigns. But he has grown slightly more aggressive in Anthony Edwards’ absence, launching a season-high in field goals made and field goals attempted against the Bucks on Monday.
Most of those efforts came from beyond the arc. A fair few of them fell in, some of which helped him break through one the league’s more noteworthy glass ceilings.
With that, here’s a look at Ball’s latest dalliance with league history.
How LaMelo Ball made NBA history vs. Bucks
Ball wasted little time to claim his place at the top of the NBA’s three-point shooting list. With a logo triple two minutes into the first quarter, Ball eclipsed 1,000 three-pointers for his career. With just 311 NBA games under his belt, Ball became the fastest player in league history to hit that mark.

While Ball has struggled with shot selection at different points in his career, the numbers don’t lie; few players can shooting the ball quite like the Minnesota guard. Ball’s audacity to attempt shots from any number of angles makes him a considerable threat in Minnesota’s attack.
Ball still has plenty of time to go to reach Curry’s record total of 4,270 triples (and counting). But he’ll no doubt relish his latest accolade, one of several he has already racked up across his glittering career.
