Week 9’s “Monday Night Football” matchup is a possible playoff preview between two teams with Super Bowl aspirations.

The Seattle Seahawks picked up a huge win last week over the Kansas City Chiefs, with their dominant defense leading the way and showing why they were the best last year. While Sam Darnold’s turnover issues continued, his performance was much better as he tries to rebound from a slow start.

More notably, though, is that the Seahawks acquired guard Quenton Nelson from the Indianapolis Colts during the week. Nelson has been one of the best offensive linemen since he entered the NFL in 2018, and his addition should be a major upgrade for the interior of Seattle’s offensive line.

Meanwhile, the Chicago Bears appear to be finding their groove following a huge win over the New England Patriots last week. Caleb Williams has picked up where he left off when he missed time with a hamstring injury, as the Bears offense continues to be explosive and effective.

Like Seattle, Chicago made a huge trade, adding Jeff Simmons from the Tennessee Titans in a major move to upgrade the defense. Simmons is a dominant force on the interior defensive line who has a chance to transform the unit down the stretch of the season.

Both teams not only have the playoffs on their mind, but they also believe they can win their division for the second straight season. They represent the top two seeds in the NFC from last year’s playoffs, but the Bears lost in the playoffs before they could meet in January.
