After a year and a half, JuJu Watkins is returning to the court. USC and UNLV will go head-to-head in both teams’ season opener on Monday.
Ranked third in the AP Poll, Southern California seems back on track to be a nationally competitive program this year. Head coach Lindsay Gottlieb has brought in a stellar freshman class, highlighted by top-ranked recruit Saniyah Hall. With Watkins finally back in play, these Trojans will be tough to beat.
UNLV is also expected to be a threat in their conference, voted No. 1 in the Mountain West preseason poll. The Rebels started the season with 89-81 exhibition win over Cal State LA, but the Trojans will pose a much tougher test.
