The Golden State Valkyries have made history, winning the WNBA Finals in just their second season of existence. While the team is celebrating on Saturday in the Bay Area, they will soon have another opportunity to celebrate with fans.
Bay Area fans are no stranger to championships, as the Golden State Warriors created one of the great dynasties in recent sports history and the San Francisco Giants won three World Series titles in the early 2010s. Now, the Valkyries join the club as a Bay Area team to bring a championship home, doing so in impressive fashion in seven games over the Atlanta Dream.
For Valkyries fans, this title is rewarding considering the fanbase embraced the team from the moment the expansion team played its first game. Bay Area fans have created a true home-court advantage, and now they will show their support in a championship parade.
