The Philadelphia Eagles might be one of the NFL’s most banged-up teams in the league this season. Throughout all of 2026, the Eagles have dealt with countless injuries on both sides of the ball, and to key players as well.

One of the more pressing issues for the Eagles lately is their running back room. While Saquon Barkley returned to play in Week 7, he was clearly not at 100%. Prior to Week 8, he didn’t practice on Wednesday or Thursday, sparking some concern.

However, after being a limited participant on Friday, the Eagles’ announced injury report revealed that Barkley, even though he hasn’t practiced in full this week, has no injury designation for Week 8, meaning he’s going to play.

Eagles announce Saquon Barkley has no injury designation for Week 8

Barkley was listed on the Eagles’ injury report Friday as a limited participant with “hamstring/back” issues. While he’s not a full participant, Barkley is still good to go.

The Eagles not placing any injury designation on Barkley, whether it was a “questionable” or “doubtful” label, indicates he’s going to play this upcoming weekend.

Facing the Washington Commanders for Sunday Night Football, who are currently in last place in the NFC East, the Eagles will have Barkley in the backfield.

While Tanner McKee and this offense will go another week without DeVonta Smith or Dontayvion Wicks involved due to injury, Barkley is at least good to go.

Makai Lemon and Dallas Goedert should see plenty of work, and Darius Cooper could get involved as well. But in the backfield, it’s going to be Barkley leading the way, with Jaydon Blue and Elijah Mitchell as the backups, with Mitchell likely the No. 2 RB.

With Tank Bigsby, Will Shipley, and Dameon Pierce all on injured reserve, along with Carson Steele’s IR-worthy injury, the Eagles have lost their RB2, RB3, RB4, and RB5 this season.

Barkley is good to go, but he’s likely not going to be at 100% on Sunday night. It’s great to have him involved, but the offense probably can’t rely on him to play anywhere close to 100% of the snaps, not with his hamstring and back injuries still lingering.
