The Philadelphia Eagles are getting ready for their second straight division match, as they are set to take on the Washington Commanders. The Eagles are looking to do better than they did against the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night, with the loss coming in the midst of the injury bug ravaging the team.
Whether it’s Jalen Hurts, who is dealing with multiple blood clots, or DeVonta Smith, who is dealing with a nagging hamstring injury, the Eagles’ offensive core has been shaken up. One player who did suit up on Monday night was Saquon Barkley, who had been a part of the injury report leading up to the match due to a hamstring issue.
Barkley recorded 62 yards and a touchdown in his seven attempts against Dallas, but his night ended early when he was taken off due to a back injury.
It appears that the combination of the two has put him back on the Eagles’ injury report.

According to the Eagles’ injury report for Thursday’s practice, Barkley was listed as a DNP (did not practice) due to his hamstring and back issues.
This isn’t exactly what Philadelphia’s coaching staff wants to hear, as their running back room isn’t in the best of shape at the moment, with Dameon Pierce being sent to the injured reserve on Wednesday, where Tank Bigsby and Will Shipley are already due to their own respective ailments.
With the Eagles not playing until Sunday, there remains some time for Barkley’s condition to improve.
Kickoff between Philadelphia and Washington is slated for Sunday night at 8:20 p.m. EST.
