Wednesday night has gifted basketball fans a multitude of games to watch and bet on across the country.
To lead off the slate tonight, Tyrese Haliburton and the Indiana Pacers will host LeBron James and the Philadelphia 76ers at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. After winning their first three games of the season, coach Nick Nurse’s crew finally lost by 13 points to the Detroit Pistons in a game where Joel Embiid wasn’t active due to load management. That won’t be the case tonight, so the Sixers are expected to return to the win column once Wednesday’s game concludes.
The Minnesota Timberwolves will be short-handed when they host the Golden State Warriors in the Gopher State. Minnesota will have LaMelo Ball leading their scoring charge after news broke of Anthony Edwards undergoing right knee surgery that will keep him out for two months. Ball’s scoring hasn’t touched the numbers he displayed during his time in Charlotte, but he’ll have opportunities to change that for a sizeable chunk of the near future.
Wednesday night’s slate will also feature Pelicans vs. Nuggets, Bucks vs. Rockets and eight other games. We break down the latest odds and our best bets for Pacers vs. 76ers, Timberwolves vs. Warriors and more. Pacers vs. 76ers best bet
After starting their season with a perfect 3-0 record, Philadelphia got punched in the mouth by the Pistons on Sunday. The Sixers are 2-2 against the spread heading into a matchup against the Pacers. Philadelphia should be able to have their way against a smaller, less physical Indiana team. The Sixers currently have top-five marks in opponent FG% (43%, 4th in NBA) and opponent PPG (107.0, 5th in NBA), which should come in handy against a mid-ranked Pacers offense.
The 76ers have far more weapons in their starting lineup compared to Tyrese Haliburton, Pascal Siakam, and Obi Toppin. Ivica Zubac remains out with a left ankle sprain, so the Pacers will be short-handed in the center department. It’s hard to guard against Joel Embiid without a starting-caliber center, so Philadelphia will cover the spread tonight.

Timberwolves vs. Warriors best bet
Minnesota will be quite short-handed for this matchup after news broke about Anthony Edwards undergoing right-knee surgery and missing up to two months. He started the 2026-27 campaign on fire, averaging 33.3 PPG (2nd in the NBA) on 48.1% from the field and 40% from beyond the arc. LaMelo Ball has evidently taken some time to get acclimated to his new role on the Timberwolves, and he’s averaging the lowest point total of his career with just 14.8 PPG.
That being said, Golden State’s defense hasn’t been a strong suit this season, as they rank in the bottom 10 in opponent PPG, FG%, and 3P%. Ball will likely be shooting the lights out at Target Center without Edwards, and a return to his role as a leading scorer may help the Timberwolves. Take Minnesota to win in front of their home crowd.

Pelicans vs. Nuggets best bet
Their most recent game played this past weekend featured a game total of 252 points at the end of regulation, followed by 26 more points between these two. The Pelicans have averaged the third-most points in the NBA this season (124.7 PPG), along with the second-most points allowed (128 OPPG). That is wonderful news for a Nuggets team that has historically prioritized its offense compared to its defense and already beat New Orleans earlier this week.
Denver’s offense hasn’t properly lifted off the ground yet, as compared to their back-to-back top 3 rankings for PPG and FG%. Right now, Denver is averaging a 17th-best PPG (113) and FG% (45.7%). Any team with Nikola Jokic is incredibly dangerous when it comes to generating offense. Both Denver and New Orleans have hit this line in all but one game this season, and looks poised to cash again.

Rockets vs. Bucks best bet
Houston has started their 2026 campaign with some fire beneath them. They’ve won two out of their four games by double digits, with a four-point win against San Antonio wedged in there as well. Houston’s been more tested than Milwaukee has, yet they still have a better record. The rebuilding Bucks have just one win in their games against Washington, Chicago, Philadelphia, and Indiana (W).
The Rockets are a perfect 4-0 against the spread this season, and they’ve won games by nine or more twice. As long as Houston continues their strong offensive showing thus far, their defense will be able to keep them ahead in the majority of games. Outside of their last game against the Pacers, Milwaukee has allowed 127+ points in every game played this season. Take Alperen Sengun and Co. to win by more than nine points tonight.

Best NBA player props for Wednesday
Embiid is likely salivating at the opportunity he has against the Pacers tonight. Zubac will not play due to a left ankle sprain, which means ample Jay Huff minutes will be on the table. That’s not a great thing for coach Rick Carlisle’s squad, especially since Philly’s center is coming off a game he rested through.
Before resting against Detroit, Embiid finished with 28 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists against Milwaukee for his first triple-double of the season. The Cameroonian big man started off slow, but his consistent improvement on a loaded offense is a promising sign for 76ers fans and bettors.
The Greek Freak’s rebounding has returned to his peak numbers after he led off the first few games prioritizing his scoring versus grabbing boards. Despite playing on the road, Antetokounmpo should have a decent matchup against Atlanta. He’ll have to deal with Jalen Johnson and Onyeka Okongwu when it comes to rebounding competition, but the Hawks lack a true center that would have an easier time stifling Miami’s star. Take Antetokounmpo to finish with his first double-digit rebounding total on the road this season.
Jokic’s lone good game through three appearances came against this same New Orleans side three days ago. He finished the win with 35 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 assists. Derik Queen wasn’t big and quick enough to stay in front of Jokic, and that shouldn’t change less than a week removed from their first meeting.
Even though this line does involve a player as skilled as Jokic, he has been quite suspect this year. Outside of the New Orleans game, he’s averaging just 16.0 PPG, seven rebounds, and eight assists. Jokic needs to ensure the best version of himself is on the court for Wednesday night’s game; it’s helpful that he’s already played well against the Pelicans earlier this week.
If he’s able to play through his right ankle sprain, Mitchell should be in line for a continued larger role in the offense with Jalen Williams and Cason Wallace out for the foreseeable future. The 2024 second-rounder is coming off of back-to-back games with 18 or more points, including 30 points against the Suns on Monday night in the team’s first full game without Williams. Dallas’ defense is pretty middle-of-the-pack, and Mitchell should be able to go north of 18 for a third game in a row.
