The 2026 season for the Seattle Seahawks has been a bit of a roller coaster, but following a huge win over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night Football, the team is now in good shape going forward in the NFC West.
But there are still some injury issues the Seahawks have to overcome, especially at the running back position. But Emmanuel Wilson thrived in Week 7, and head coach Mike Macdonald revealed some good news the next day.
According to ESPN’s Brady Henderson, Macdonald revealed good news about rookie running back Jadarian Price, but some uncertainty for Zach Charbonnet for Week 8.
Seahawks reveal good news for Price, uncertain news for Charbonnet for Week 8
“The Seahawks will open up Jadarian Price’s 21-day practice window this week, per Macdonald,” Henderson reports. “No word on his status for MNF vs. the Bears. On Zach Charbonnet, he said they’re still sticking to their plan and again stopped well short of saying he’ll play vs. Chicago.”
The Seahawks are likely to utilize multiple running backs when everyone is healthy, but for now, it’s the Emmanuel Wilson show. Price and Charbonnet might be coming back soon to take on a chunk of the offense.
However, based on this report from Henderson at Macdonald’s press conference, there’s some real doubt about whether the Seahawks will actually be getting Price and Charbonnet back in Week 8.

When the team faces the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football, Wilson might be the lead back again. But with Price’s practice window being opened, he has a chance of coming back this week.
Charbonnet, meanwhile, is on the 53-man roster after being activated off the PUP list, but he hasn’t played yet this season. Unfortunately, this update from Macdonald doesn’t point to a return being imminent either.
The lack of commitment from Macdonald that Charbonnet will play doesn’t bode well for his odds of suiting up next week.
There’s still a chance that both running backs go, but based on Macdonald’s comments and Henderson’s report, it seems there’s a real chance both sit out for at least another week as they try to return from injury.
