The Indianapolis Colts are going to be sellers at the NFL trade deadline, unless they can win two of their next three games against the Minnesota Vikings, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Dallas Cowboys.
With things looking bleak for the Colts, especially after firing general manager Chris Ballard, the Colts look poised to sell. The list of players that could be moved includes star running back Jonathan Taylor. But what teams could show interest in him?
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport, four teams have emerged as landing spots for Taylor this season, and they would all be intriguing destinations for the star running back.
Jonathan Taylor linked to 4 NFL teams amid trade rumors
“The Green Bay Packers, Seattle Seahawks, Denver Broncos and Vikings are among the teams that have pondered, or are expected to consider, the possibility of a trade for the star running back, according to sources,” Schefter and Rapoport report.
Indianapolis is a likely seller, and Taylor is a real possibility of being a trade candidate. If he’s moved, it’s going to be for a haul, which needs a team to be a contender to justify splurging to acquire him.
For all four of these NFL teams linked to a Taylor trade, there is at least one issue at each landing spot that could make a trade complicated.
The Packers are getting Josh Jacobs back this week, and if he’s active for the rest of the year, the Packers won’t have any need to trade for Taylor.

The Seahawks are 3-3, and might not even be buying. But if they do, they might only have interest in Taylor if there is real concern about Zach Charbonnet coming back from injury, and Jadarian Price’s return from IR as well.
For the Broncos, they have a solid three-headed backfield with J.K. Dobbins, RJ Harvey, and Jonah Coleman. Trading for Taylor might not make the most sense.
Finally, the Vikings might make the most sense, but with Aaron Jones Sr. and Jordan Mason, there isn’t really much of a need for the Vikings to add Taylor unless one of those backs gets hurt or they really struggle the next few weeks.
All four of these teams aren’t clean fits for Taylor, but with the Colts potentially selling, they are all realistic landing spots according to Rapoport and Schefter, and are worth monitoring going forward.
