Cordae got vulnerable about his former relationship with Naomi Osaka in a new song.

The Grammy-nominated rapper released his joint project Heavy Is The Crown with Anderson.Paak on Friday, Oct. 23, where he addressed where he and the tennis player stand and admitted to a new life update.

In the song, “Helpless,” Cordae raps that he is expecting another child and that he never wanted the outcome of his relationship with Osaka to happen as he reflects on the reality of co-parenting.

“I’m finna have my second child, although we still ain’t said our vows/Was never my intention to raise my daughter in separate homes/ Gavе your mom my all, but the love she had for mе dead and gone,” Cordae raps.

He then adds that he is taking accountability for any wrongdoing, “Although you ain’t a man if you can’t admit it when you was wrong/Can’t see it coming down my eyes, so do it through this song.”

Osaka and Cordae welcomed their daughter, Shai, in July 2023. The couple, who were together since 2019, split in 2025. Following their split, Osaka shared that there was “no bad blood” between them as they shifted their priorities to co-parenting their daughter.

While this is the first time Cordae spoke about their relationship since their breakup, this is not the first time he’s mentioned Osaka in his music.

Cordae first mentioned Osaka in the 2021 track “More Life,” where he raps, “My girl a tennis star, you n—– out here marrying h—.”

He mentioned her again in “Dream in Color” when he raps, “My girl would forfeit a tennis match to meet my grandmama. Man, she truly a keeper.”

While Cordae mentioned that he is expecting another child, he didn’t share what the nature of the relationship with the mystery woman. As for Osaka, she just finished competing in the China Open in Beijing earlier this month. She has not made her relationship status public at this time.
