The Broncos can’t complain about a primetime win and a 4-2 record, but all well in Denver right now? Ryan Fitzpatrick certainly doesn’t think so.

The former NFL quarterback-turned-Amazon Prime Video analyst shredded Broncos QB Bo Nix after Denver’s 17-14 overtime win over the Seahawks on Thursday night, calling out the third-year quarterback following a lifeless second half.

While the Broncos walked away with a win, Nix threw for just 107 yards and Denver was shut out in the second half.

Here’s what a fiery Fitzpatrick had to say about Nix.

The Broncos might not be ready to sound the alarm on Nix, but Fitzpatrick is. The former NFL quarterback called out Nix for “not competing right now,” after a sluggish showing against the Seahawks.

“It’s almost disrespectful to the quarterback position how he’s playing football right now,” Fitzpatrick said. “The guy doesn’t want to throw the ball, that’s fine. He’s throwing to the flats, he’s throwing behind, but he has no trust from his coach.”

Raising his voice, Fitzpatrick tore into Nix for his effort level in overtime.

“In overtime, he’s got two chances to be competitive, the last one being a designed run for him to run, make somebody miss and get a first down your football team!” Fitzpatrick said. “Now they’re in the locker room right now, they’re excited they won…he’s not playing competitive football right now.”

Tony Gonzalez, meanwhile, suggested Nix might need to be benched if he doesn’t turn his season around.

Nix has never had a reputation as a sharp downfield passer, but his longest completion against the Seahawks went a meager 7.6 yards through the air.

Nix finished 17-of-27 for 107 yards in the win, rushing for only two yards. The former first-round pick suffered a fractured ankle in the playoffs last season, but he hasn’t indicated he’s still dealing with the effects of the injury.

“I can only imagine how Sean Payton feels,” Fitzpatrick said. “I mean, Sean Payton, Davis Webb, everybody that blocks for him. He’s not competing right now.”

Commanders coach Dan Quinn said last week’s tie felt like a loss after his team bungled its final sequence against the Giants. The Broncos might not feel like they lost on Thursday night, but it would be tough for either team to walk away feeling encouraged after ugly offensive displays.
