It’s no secret teams are trimming their rosters ahead of the regular season.
The New York Knicks are among the franchises that have made their fair share of roster cuts this week, as they recently waived a 6-foot-10 ex-Los Angeles Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers center.
“The Knicks are waiving Tony Bradley and Ochai Agbaji along with (Drew) Eubanks,” ESPN’s Shams Charania reported on X/Twitter Thursday.
Bradley, who averaged 4.0 points and 2.8 rebounds per game with the Indiana Pacers and Atlanta Hawks last season, looked solid in three preseason games with New York.
The UNC product averaged 5.3 points and 1.6 rebounds while shooting 83.3% from the field in limited minutes (7.3). Bradley is a high-energy big man who can be productive in a less demanding role. Still, his below-average foot speed, vertical explosiveness, and offensive skill set explain why he’s been a journeyman so far.
Bradley’s longest NBA stint came with the Utah Jazz (the Lakers selected him with the No. 28 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft but traded him to the Jazz shortly after), where he spent three seasons before joining the 76ers in 2020 via trade.
While this isn’t the news the former McDonald’s All-American likely hoped to hear, it’s far from the end of the road for the 29-year-old center.
