Entering Week 5, the 3-1 Jacksonville Jaguars face off against the Philadelphia Eagles overseas in London. The Jaguars are trying to further separate themselves from the pack in the AFC South and face the 2024 Super Bowl champions.

While the Eagles have been one of the better teams of the last half-decade or so, this year’s version of the Eagles is completely different than before. Fortunately for the Jaguars, the Eagles look like a shell of their former selves right now.

For this Week 5 matchup, ESPN’s Seth Walder is predicting that the Jaguars will have a very exciting outcome, where they beat Philly by two touchdowns. While a bold prediction, it’s one that could actually happen for a few reasons.

Jaguars predicted to beat Eagles by two TDs in bold prediction that could come true

“The Jaguars will win by two touchdowns,” Walder predicts. “Philadelphia is 2-2 and ranks 27th in EPA per play on offense and 25th on defense. That is rough.”

Heading into Week 5, this Eagles team looks to be one of the bottom 10 teams in the NFL. Their offense is in a bad spot, and the defense has severely underperformed.

For the Jaguars, that’s a recipe for success. Trevor Lawrence, Parker Washington, Brian Thomas Jr., Jakobi Meyers, and Bhayshul Tuten should be able to move the ball all day long against this Eagles defense.

Even though they might be getting key players like Quinyon Mitchell and Zack Baun back from injury, the fully healthy defense for the Eagles hasn’t looked very good this season.

But where the Jaguars could really put this game away is their defense, one of the best in the NFL this season, facing a struggling Eagles offense that just got a lot worse.

Lane Johnson, a future Hall of Fame right tackle, just retired this week for the Eagles. They traded Pro Bowl interior offensive lineman Cam Jurgens, and their backup center is banged up and might not play either.

DeVonta Smith and Saquon Barkley are both not likely to play in this London matchup either, leaving Jalen Hurts and this Eagles offense without multiple starting offensive linemen and their two most important offensive weapons.

So, when Walder is predicting that the Jaguars will beat the Eagles by two touchdowns, it might not be as bold as a two-TD game might seem. Nearly every card is stacked up against the Eagles this week, and it would not be a surprise if they were blown out.

This Jaguars team is incredible and might be one of the biggest sleeper Super Bowl teams in the NFL. Facing a reeling Eagles team, the Jaguars have the upper hand and could easily win by two touchdowns.
