The Baltimore Ravens are currently facing a tricky situation with their starting quarterback for their Week 5 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons for Sunday Night Football.
Jackson is dealing with an ankle injury, and after being a DNP at practice on Wednesday, the hope was that he’d return to practice in some capacity on Thursday. Unfortunately, the update was not good.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Jackson didn’t practice on Thursday, leaving just one more day of practice on Friday for Jackson to prove he’s good to go for Sunday’s matchup. But as of now, this update doesn’t bode well for his odds to play this week.
Lamar Jackson injury update doesn’t bode well for Week 5 odds
“Ravens QB Lamar Jackson did not practice today due to his ankle injury,” Schefter reports. “Friday’s practice, whether or not Jackson goes, looms large as it relates to his potential availability for Sunday night’s game in Atlanta.”
Jackson has missed two days of practice already, and barring a change between Thursday night and Friday, Jackson might miss every practice leading up to Week 5.
If that were to happen, and Jackson misses all of practice this week, it would be all but a guarantee that he’s not playing in Atlanta in Week 5.

Tyler Huntley is the backup, and Ravens fans should, unfortunately, expect to see him starting for the Ravens against the Falcons on Sunday Night Football.
Jackson missing practice on Wednesday wasn’t a big deal, but his absence Thursday really speaks to how his status for Week 5 is up in the air at best.
The signs are pointing towards Jackson being out for Week 5, which would be a huge blow to a Ravens team set to face a challenging Falcons team that’s blown out the Green Bay Packers and New Orleans Saints in back-to-back weeks.
