The Kansas City Chiefs are 4-0 at their Week 5 bye, but this team should really be eyeing upgrades. Specifically, they are going to need wide receiver help.

Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy, and a collection of depth options aren’t good enough. The Chiefs need some extra help. With Tyreek Hill being strongly connected to the Chiefs following the Tyquan Thornton injury, they might have found their WR addition.

But ESPN’s Dan Graziano believes the Chiefs shouldn’t stop at signing Hill, if they even do that. He is urging the Chiefs to go out and make a trade for a wide receiver to bolster their questionable depth chart and pursue a return trip to the Super Bowl.

Chiefs urged to trade for WR help even with Tyreek Hill rumors

“I’m not buying that Tyreek Hill is much of an upgrade over what they have at this point in his career,” Graziano writes. “If players such as Marvin Harrison Jr., Brian Thomas Jr., Jerry Jeudy, or Calvin Ridley become available, the Chiefs should poke around.”

Kansas City has a good offense through the firts four weeks of the season, but wide receiver help is a must for this team to have what it takes to really contend for a Super Bowl.

Travis Kelce is still great, Patrick Mahomes looks incredible again, and Kenneth Walker has been arguably the NFL’s best running back through four games this year.

The WR room is a different story, with Rice and Worthy showing potential, but also showing that they’re not likely enough to truly contend.

So, as Graziano is urging the Chiefs to do, a trade for wide receiver help, regardless of Hill’s status, would make a ton of sense.

Besides, there’s no guarantee Hill is any good if he were to sign. His serious injury last year could’ve made him slower, and a lot worse.

So, even though Hill seems destined to sign with the Chiefs, Kansas City should listen to Graziano and go out and make a trade for WR help.

Whether it’s a top option like Thomas or Harrison, or someone of a lesser impact like Jeudy or Ridley, adding help to the WR room beyond Hill would make a lot of sense.
