The Kansas City Chiefs had a very important divisional game on Sunday as they went against the Las Vegas Raiders, who were also undefeated. In what was a very tight game, the Chiefs were able to escape with a road win.

Kansas City did suffer some major injuries to its WR room, with the first being Rashee Rice. Then, Tyquan Thornton suffered a dislocated ankle in the fourth quarter.

“Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyquan Thornton suffered a dislocated left ankle Sunday that was later put back into place by team doctors, sources told NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Thornton exited Allegiant Stadium on crutches after his team’s 30-27 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. In the fourth quarter, he had to be carted off the field after he made a 55-yard catch that ended when he was tackled from behind by rookie free safety Treydan Stukes,” ESPN’s Nate Taylor wrote.

Despite the win, it came with a cost. The possibility of the Chiefs signing a WR is pretty high now. Taylor reported that the organization has been in contact with Tyreek Hill.

“Even before the injuries to Thornton and fellow receiver Rashee Rice on Sunday, the Chiefs had already shown interest in signing wide receiver Tyreek Hill, who is a free agent. Following Sunday’s game, a team source said “we’ve remained in contact” with Hill and his agent Drew Rosenhaus,” Taylor wrote.

This would be something, but the position is a necessity. At the beginning of September, Hill’s agent Drew Rosenhaus gave a timeframe.

“Free-agent wide receiver Tyreek Hill and his representatives are “playing it on the safe side” as he prepares for a possible return to the NFL this season. His agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said Wednesday on The Pat McAfee Show that teams have shown interest in the eight-time Pro Bowler. However, doctors have advised Hill to delay a comeback until at least October,” Bleacher Report’s Joseph Zucker wrote.

It has been over a year since Hill’s devastating injury to his leg, and it has been five years since his last game with Kansas City. This reunion would be one that the Chiefs need to make happen with their injuries.

Both sides will likely continue to discuss some things, but if Rice doesn’t get a good report, it might be Hill’s time to return to Kansas City. No one had this on their bingo card, and it very well could happen after the latest report.
