Trey Yesavage has made six big league appearances before Friday night.

The Toronto Blue Jays‘ rookie made three regular season starts, then started three times between the ALDS and ALCS.

Now, he’s on the biggest stage of them all. Yesavage is the second-youngest pitcher ever to start World Series Game 1.

He got to do it at home on Friday night against the high-powered Los Angeles Dodgers.

And there in the stands were his parents, living and dying with every single pitch.

Trey Yesavage parents

Trey Yesavage’s parents have been there on his whole journey.

His dad is Dave, and his mom is Cheryl.

They live in Pottstown, Pennsylvania.

After Yesavage’s ALDS gem, he spoke about his parents and his brother, Cole.

“They’re my people,” Yesavage told MLB.com. “They’re the reason I’m here right now. I couldn’t love them more. Mom, Dad, Cole, Chase — you’re at college — I love you guys.”

After Yesavage opened World Series Game 1 with a splitter for a swinging strikeout of Shohei Ohtani, the Fox broadcast caught his parents quite fired up.
