Canada and Australia face each other at Ashton Gate Stadium this evening to battle it out in hopes of bagging a semi-final place.

Canada, who are ranked second in the world, come off the back of three consecutive wins in the group stages, where they finished top of Pool B.

The Wallaroos have had a more mixed campaign, drawing against the USA 31 – 31 and losing to England 47 – 7. However, they dominated the first thirty minutes against the Red Roses, demonstrating their ability to perform against higher ranked teams.

There is all to play for at Ashton Gate today for the first of the knock-out rounds as the Women’s Rugby World Cup heats up.

The final result of this match will establish who will play New Zealand in the semi finals next week, after they beat South Africa 46 – 17 earlier today in Exeter.
