Only one game remains in the UFL’s sophomore campaign. The Michigan Panthers and DC Defenders will face off in the UFL championship game in St. Louis on Saturday.
Quarterback Bryce Perkins, running back Toa Taua and the Panthers did what they had to do to reach the title game: They finally beat the Birmingham Stallions.
The conference rival had defeated Michigan seven straight times dating back to the 2022 USFL season, and the Stallions had never lost a playoff game in Skip Holtz’s four combined seasons in the USFL and UFL. This time, though, the Panthers got the last laugh. They racked up 371 yards of offense and won 44-29.
QB Jordan Ta’amu and the Defenders also put up one heck of a showing in conference championship weekend. They defeated the rival Battlehawks 36-18, mounting a convincing upset on the home squad at The Dome in St. Louis. RB Deon Jackson and wideout Cornell Powell have both been explosive for DC, so this could be a shootout of a championship game.

The 2025 UFL championship game kicks off Saturday at 8 p.m. ET (7 p.m. CT). The battle of the conference champs will take place at The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis, Missouri, the same spot that hosted the UFL’s inaugural title game last year.
What channel is the Panthers vs. Defenders on today?
The game will be broadcast nationally on ABC. Joe Tessitore (play-by-play) and Jordan Rodgers (analyst) will call the game, while Sam Acho and Tom Luginbill report from the sidelines. Erin Dolan will also be a part of ABC’s broadcast as a betting analyst.
