The Golden State Warriors remain one of the only teams to have not done a single thing yet during free agency. While Warriors trade rumors are keeping the fanbase engaged, many in DubNation are praying that the Warriors do some kind of move soon. One possible Warriors trade target is now very available on the market.
Recent reports are that the Utah Jazz are shopping forward John Collins. Collins scored nearly 19 points per game last season. He also chipped in 8.2 rebounds per game and shot almost 40% from three.
Could John Collins be the best new realistic Warriors trade target?
As a stretch big man who can rebound and create his own offense, Collins is certainly intriguing. While known for his high-flying dunks, Collins is actually a great 3-point shooter.
A player averaging over 36% from three in their career and over eight rebounds a game is kind of exactly what the Warriors need.
Collins would instantly become the Warriors’ third option on offense, and with his size and length, might have some defensive upside as well.
That being said, Collins has always left a lot to be desired. Despite his production throughout his career, most teams do not value him highly. Maybe it’s his subpar defensive effort. Maybe it’s attitude and locker room issues.

The Warriors could try and take the risk of trading for John Collins. His upside in the Warriors’ system is tantalizing. He is also on an expiring contract, meaning he could be worth a one-year flyer. If the smoke around the John Collins trade rumors is real, the Warriors should see if they can get involved.
