Trent Alexander-Arnold is still getting used to life at Real Madrid, but he’s already making a big impact — especially on one of his own teammates.
Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has revealed that training alongside the English right-back has been both impressive and, at times, exhausting.
Since joining Madrid from Liverpool, Alexander-Arnold has shown off the skills that made him one of the most dangerous full-backs in the Premier League.
The Spanish giants are hoping to end their summer with silverware at the Club World Cup, and Alexander-Arnold is already showing he belongs in white. But it’s not just fans who are watching — his teammates are feeling the heat too.
“He could have provided several assists already in the tournament,” Courtois said.
“In training, his striking is unbelievable, his free-kicks and corners are on another level. I don’t think I’ve seen anyone with his quality in striking and crossing.”

Thibaut Courtois explains how Trent Alexander-Arnold improves him
Courtois wasn’t just handing out compliments — he also admitted that facing Trent every day is tough. “As a goalkeeper, he’s a nightmare at times,” he said.
“He keeps you on your toes and forces you to work hard to make stops. He makes us improve.”
Alexander-Arnold has started every game for Madrid at the Club World Cup, switching between right-back and midfield.
He already picked up an assist with a perfect cross for Gonzalo García in the 1-0 win over Juventus — a classic Trent delivery.
The Belgian shot-stopper is still adjusting to Trent’s attacking style, which often leaves goalkeepers exposed. But instead of complaining, Courtois sees it as a challenge that makes him sharper.
Madrid now prepare for a quarterfinal clash with Borussia Dortmund in New Jersey. Whether it’s training or game day, Alexander-Arnold is clearly keeping things lively — and making waves far beyond Anfield.
