  • Potential Kuminga sign-and-trade destination could bring back old Warriors hero

The Jonathan Kuminga rumors are starting to “Heat” up. An NBA insider revealed that the Miami Heat are legitimately interested in the Warriors’ young forward. A Heat-Kuminga sign-and-trade could bring back an ex-Warrior that everyone would welcome home with open arms.

“One name to keep an eye on that I’m told they are expected to be a potential suitor for is Warriors restricted free agent Jonathan Kuminga,” said Shams Charania on the Miami Heat as a potential Kuminga destination.

It has already been well documented that the Heat are willing to trade recent trade acquisition Andrew Wiggins. If the Warriors were able to get him back in a Kuminga sign-and-trade, it would be the ideal offseason pickup.

Not only is Wiggins a beloved Warrior from his essential role in the Warriors’ 2022 NBA Championship, but he is exactly what the Warriors need.

Wiggins would come back and would once again be the Warriors’ best wing defender. With Jimmy Butler now on the team, Wiggins would have less offensive responsibility, something that usually allows him to thrive.

Wiggins also knows the Warriors’ system and knows how to play Warriors basketball. This has constantly been an issue with Kuminga.

Despite already playing 11 seasons in the NBA, Wiggins is still young. He is only 30 years old. While obviously he doesn’t have the same room to grow as Kuminga does, Wiggins has already proved himself as an All-Star and perfect second fiddle to Stephen Curry.

If there were a Heat-Kuminga sign-and-trade that brought Wiggins back to the Bay, the Warriors would be one of the most dangerous teams in the league next season.
